Liz Cross

Liz Cross’ first introduction to Chinese Medicine was in 2002 through food therapy as an assistant to Paul Pitchford, author of Healing with Whole Foods. In 2006, she moved to Colorado and performed medical massage on professional and amateur athletes. After 5 years of taking athletes through multiple seasons of training, including members of the Australian Olympic Triathlon team, Ironman competitors and ultra-marathoners, she shifted focus to working in mental health. In 2011 Liz moved to North Carolina to work at the holistic mental health center CooperRiis. She used bodywork and Chinese Medicine, to treat in-patient residents for 9 years, collaborating with staff to provide a multi-disciplinary team approach to healing. Focusing on results-oriented outcomes while earning her Masters Degree in Chinese Medicine, she graduated in 2016 having seen over 500 patients, an unprecedented number for the college. She began working at The Alternative Clinic in Asheville, North Carolina in 2018, collaborating on treatments with the practitioners and studying intensively with Chief Practitioners Andrew and JulieAnn Nugent-Head. Liz treats both external injury and internal disease at The Alternative Clinic. She has taught massage therapy in California, supervised students at Daoist Traditions College for Chinese Medicine, and is now expanding on-line classwork in Chinese Medicine.
